Unsynchronized Swimming

This year marked the first year of many (most likely) of "synchro." For the 8 and under group, it really should be called unsynchronized swimming. But that's what also made it so darn cute. May, June and half of July were filled with late nights, wet towels, bathing suit traumas, goggles, lost nose clips, swim caps, some tears, talk of "championships", figures, routines, new friends, big sisters, and the snack bar (pizza, ring pops and begging.)

They were supposed to be jumping in the pool two at a time... Grace is the second one over from the right - just entering the pool. Her partner looks elevated on top of the water. funny. And Grace's BFF, Avery, is next in line to jump. We were very grateful that Grace and Avery were able to do this together. It was also great for the carpooling situation!

Grace is somewhere underwater with this picture of them in their "circle." I'm not sure who was who - maybe Molly knows... But you get the jist.

And now Grace is proudly showing off her fourth place ribbon in figures (out of 6 people.) And her first place ribbon for their routine (they were the only 8 and under routine at that particular meet.) Cole is sharing his newly crafted play dough worm.

Thanks to the grandparents for much late night babysitting of the boys. And we get to do this again next year - Grace says she wants to do it until she's 18 yrs. old. In a few years we can probably start to call it Synchronized swimming.
